This place books up early for a reason. Try the salmon it's phenomenal which you wouldn't expect in the mountains necessarily the menus small but what they do make is delicious. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly and the restaurant has a Good Vibe.

Came here with family and friends for my 40th birthday festivities while on a ski-trip in Mammoth. Wife made reservations for a group of 10 of us and we were excited to get to dining. This place is above the bowling alley, but don't let that dissuade you from coming. It's beautiful and elegant, with great views. We ordered a lot of food, all of which was delicious and beautifully presented. Their steaks were cooked perfectly to our liking (those who requested medium got medium etc.) and all the appetizers were very yummy. The standouts were the French Onion Soup and the Mushroom Strudel. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because despite being "fine-dining", most of our food that came out was given to the wrong person. Our French Onion Soup was given to another person, and we got someone else's entree, so we all had to do some swapping. You would think they would note which seat ordered what, but it must have been an oversight from the server's side. Overall, great place and would come back again!

This was a surprise to me that this place has been in Mammoth for years. I guess I need to get away from going to my usual places during our ski trips. The food selection was diverse and we tried the mushroom strudel and the salmon and ahi egg rolls to start. K also had the potato leek soup and the seabass special. They don't allow corkage, so we had to order a bottle off the menu despite bringing a very nice bottle from home to share with friends. The service was terrific and the restaurant had a modern feel with a fine dining ambiance.

Came here for a family dinner right before Christmas. Did some bowling first downstairs, and then came upstairs for dinner. I thought the food was excellent. I ordered the elk medallions and they were cooked very well and very flavorful. The kids had the rigatoni that was also really good. I believed we also had some escargot and french onion soup (both winners). The only item that I wasn't crazy about was the Ahi tuna. The dish was very small and wasn't really worth it. Service was great and the ambiance of the restaurant was very nice. You did not feel like you were upstairs from a bowling alley! Had a great dinner and great experience!

This is our new favorite nice dinner spot in Mammoth! We were sad that Dish Bistro closed so we had to search for alternative food that wasn't heavy. Great service, and although they are going for a more fine dining vibe, service is not pretentious even if you are wearing California casual We had: Wild mushroom strudel - something unexpected but my favorite bite!! The 2 plate: sauces along with the explosion of mushroom medley and crispy pastry made for a perfect opener to our meal. Highly recommend for mushroom lovers! Pork tenderloin special - with wild mushroom sauce - deliciously tender, savory umami sauce with morels! Duck confit - cooked perfectly Had the glacee (sorbet) of the day which was raspberry mint. Nice clean finish! They make a nice sweet old fashion as well. Bottom line: if you were wanting to elevate your tastebuds beyond the normal American fare, Mammoth Rock is the place!

Have been to Mammoth many times and had never tried this place until having Thanksgiving Dinner here. It was very interesting because it sits on the 2nd level above a bowling alley, but you didn't hear any of that while in the restaurant. The restaurant was nice, they seated us a bit early for our reservation which was nice, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. For Thanksgiving they had a pre fixe menu with 2-3 choice for a starter, main course, and desert, along with fresh warm bread to for the table. I had the Butternut Squash Soup which was fantastic, the traditional Turkey and Dressing dinner, and Sweet Potato Pie. It was all very good, and came out quick and warm. I was really impressed with the entire thing, and thankful to those that spent the night working to allow a group of us dinner. :)

The brasserie might be my favorite restaurant ever? In the world? You can't beat the view, the bread is YUM, the drinks are perfection, the staff is always friendly and lovely but the food UGH. This would be my last meal. 9 times out of 10 I skip the menu and order the special. The soups and the fish specials always knock it out of the park. Even if it isn't something you wouldn't normally order, trust it. I've been told dessert is phenomenal but we never have made it to dessert.

My husband and I dining here tonight with our best friend after a long day's hike. We arrived around 5:45 PM on a Thursday evening. Normally, we would make reservations, but it was kind of a last-minute decision. This is such a wonderful place to eat! The service is lovely and the food is delicious. The view is pretty darn good also! We began by sharing an heirloom tomato and barata salad, which was a great start! Then, two of us got the elk medallions, and the other, the diver scallops, which was a special. Each of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal and ate every bite!
